Antique Dresser

For this week's Show & Tell Friday, I want to show this dresser.
Cary bought this before we met. It's antique, from the 1800s. I wish I knew more about it's history, who owned it, where it's been! We love old things and this dresser is probably our favorite piece of furniture. Too bad our bedroom is so small and we can't find a decent spot for it! Maybe in our next home... ;-)

I love all the details!

  1. A very unique and beautiful wood piece-- so glad you shared!!! Why limit to the bedroom -- I would show that off in a main part of your house! To neat not to! Any thing goes now a days!

  4. Carol - the rest of our house is too small too! ;-) It's already cluttered and we really don't have a lot of furniture. Hopefully we'll be able to get a bigger home soon!
But I like your suggestion - I bet it would look great in a main part of our house!

  5. A birthday present? For me? Thank you Irma <3 I'm quite gobsmacked, in a positive way. I will look forward to it and keep a close watch on the mail box =)

That's really the only problem about old furniture: they can't talk! The stories they could tell us.. This is beautiful piece, very elegant and almost royal =) I love the photo with the flash where you can just see you peeking behind the wall *g*

  10. It's beautiful. I adore old furniture and old homes. If only they could talk. I just love picturing what type of people have owned things like this.
