Galveston - part 2

Tuesday morning: woke up to another gorgeous sunrise...

   Morning swim...

 

 

 Looking for treasures on the east side of the island.

 Hermit crabs and other critters...

 

 Large ships...

 

 

 Different beach, on the west side of the island.

 Lunch at the Rainforest Café.

 5 years ago Gabriel was scared of the elephants!

  Volcano!

 

 

 

Fishing in the sea...

  No catches because they couldn't get out far enough.

Some typical homes for the west side of the island...

More fishing...this time he caught about a dozen fish!

 Evening swim in the pool / hot tub by the condo.

 The condo was great!

Galveston - part 1

Early October we went on a trip to Houston/Galveston (we had to go to the Dutch Consulate to renew our Dutch passports, something we have to do every 5 years).

The condo we stayed at in the background...it was right on the beach!

 He absolutely loved the water and waves!

 

 Looking for treasures...

 

Treasures found! Shells, crab pinchers etc...Gabriel loved it!

Monday morning sunrise...the view from the condo was incredible!

 We spent most of the day at Moody Gardens.

 Gabriel's new friend, the giant river otter...he loved it!

 Next, we went to see a 4D movie, the wizard of Oz (a shortened version of the Wizard of Oz with special effects like real water drops, stuff hitting your legs and poking you in the back - very fun)!

 

 

Next was a dinosaur movie in 3D and then the Aquarium Pyramid.
