Gabriel's Space Party

Gabriel had a space theme for his birthday party this year...so of course Mommy had to get creative with the cake again!
The rocket cake was for his party with his friends on Saturday the 8th and the Earth cake we took to Papa & Nanni the next day. Both were lemon cake in case anyone wants to know ;)
The kids started with some crafts...
Then there was lots of 'space food'!
 My favorite...jell-o aliens!

Next, we went to visit space! I had darkened Gabriel's room and bathroom and put glow-in-the-dark stickers everywhere. All the kids wore a 'laser-light' on their finger and got to go in. I also had a small light that projected stars and planets onto the walls and ceiling. The kids loved it!

Then it was time for cake!

Eli was more interested in this inflatable astronaut (and space shuttle, not pictured here).
 Birthday presents!

They got to decorate and eat space cookies!
 My cookie ;)
And finally they had a 'moon rock hunt' in the yard (I spray-painted rocks with silver paint). The 3 winners got a small prize. Gabriel says he wants a bug party next year...should I let them search for real bugs then?

Gabriel's 6th birthday!

His last minutes as a 5-year-old...
 What could it be???
Thumbs up! It's a Roadmaster Jr. from the 70s.

More presents!
Space puzzle from Opa & Oma
Rush Hour Safari from Opa & Oma
And a few small things from Mommy & Daddy...
Easy-to-read Bible to he can join me in reading the Bible in 1 year in 2013!

Time to test that bike outside!
 Working with Daddy...

 Beautiful sunset...
The next day he really got the hang of riding his bike!

Cary brought a surprise home!
Who needs Dish when you have Gabriel TV?!
